CCC idrive fault, no start from head unit

Hi all.
I recently upgraded my CCC iDrive screen in my 2008 LCI E90 to an android type that routed through the AUX.

The screen part works other than there is no audio, radio or iDrive controller response. I can guarantee it is the head unit part, the part with the DVD and CD tuner, it just makes a ticking noise, I have had it re flowed and still go.

Is there some way to bypass the head unit part altogether and do without radio, DVD and GPS... a MOST loop cable, or a CCC emulator?

Thanks in advance

Justin

What hifi do you have? If it is logic7 then the audio should be going through the MULF2 aux input. If not then the CCC unit handles it. If you have NAV with only a TCU (telemetrics not transmission control) then you could upgrade to the MULF2 with coding and then add an aux line to it. I think that would work but it depends on what is wrong with the CCC unit...

I am going through some of this with my e70 where my TCU failed.

It would be possible to get an adapter to use as an AUX input. Avin has one and there are some on ebay/aliexpress. I am not sure how the audio quality compares with those vs the MULF aux input. Either way it has to do an Analog to Digital conversion.

Rich I believe it has harmon Kardin if that means anything, also I noticed the AUX in the centre console has fibreoptic, I cant access the head unit other than getting the part numbers from it unfortunately. I might be able to plug in ISTA or NCS and see what is activated..

jt693030@gmail.com did you ever get this sorted? I'm having a similar problem now. Given that all I did was uninstall then reinstall the CCC I'm guessing it's a hardware issue.
FYI I also trying reinstalling the original display, and it still gets stuck in a reboot loop.
