2008 328i HELP plz.... fuse 33 keeps shorting out. water pump wont activate

ive searched and cant find any answers. i have a water pump with the code 2E84. i have a 40amp fuse at spot 33 behind the glove box that blows the moment i plug into the water pump. if its left unplugged the fuse is fine. the water pump is a new replacement. cant figure out where the short is. does anyone have access to fuss 33s wiring diagram?

The new water pump may be defective and be causing a short? I would return for a new replacement.

Does the fuse blow if you plug the old pump back in?

There are TWO connectors in the E-box at which there may be "Short-to-Ground", X6041 & X60552. See Attached ISTA
ScreenPrints for wiring, Component Location & Connector Views. I would disconnect the X6035 Connector at the Pump,
Remove fuse F33 (30A), open the E-box, and then test for continuity to Chassis Ground at X6035/1, Red Wire, or at
sockets of F33 after removal.

If the fuse is blowing, there should be LESS than .4 Ohm Resistance between either end of that wire & Chassis Ground.
If that is what you find, then the issue is in the wiring or one of those two E-box connectors,
and NOT in the Pump. If you have Infinite Resistance in wiring test, then repeat test at Pump Pin that X6035/1 connects.

Please let us know what you find,
George
