Inflatable car covers any good?
Hey guys,
I知 Losing my garage spot for my single turbo n54 in a couple weeks 😔. So I知 looking for some solutions on what to do with the car for storage. Storage units around me are absolutely outrageous. I have spot to put it and I have a good cover but I was thinking about adding the inflatable cover or a portable garage over it as well? Worried about the portable garage getting flung around in the Boston winter storms. The inflatable covers are 3x the price? Anyone have any experience with the inflatable ones in harsh weather? Thank you in advanced https://a.co/d/8sAgmDk https://www.harborfreight.com/10-ft-...Y58LKlAP8PydqH |

335boston The HF one was just on sale a couple weeks ago... I almost bought one. They're supposed to be pretty good if you go to some extra work to reinforce the foundation pieces around it and anchor it down.
Have never seen the blow up kind... looks a bit over the top for something that gets driven. |

I thought those blow up covers were for people in Lousiana, Florida and the Gulf Coast who live with the threat of flooding. The covers are meant for in-garage flood protection.

The one I was looking at said it has protection vs snow and hail which is why I was so interested since Boston can get bad snow/hail storms

Yeah, I've been to Boston a few times in December - March.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

I looked for a drive-in foldable-tent cover, much like some motorcycle covers one can purchase, but I found none.

Yes, reinforce. I had one of these years ago, somewhere between 8-10" of moderately wet snow the roof will collapse...almost took out my windshield (SUV so a bit taller but still)...

I was thinking about that, how do I get the snow off without ripping the top of the canopy? |

My situation happened overnight so I was not able to clear it before the weight took over. Maybe you could use one of those pool squeegee things with the long pole, add some heat to the inside so it won't stick as well, or source some metal tube and split the difference on the roof spacing. Although I didn't witness it, I'm under the impression it was a slow take-down, not an abrupt drop of the roof...
