Driver side Vapor Barrier replacement

About 4-5 years ago I fixed my water leak problem on my E90, now I noticed water was leaking from the driver side again. My former mechanic resealed the old Vapor barrier back on again, but then the seal wore out, & leaked again. Is it best to buy a new one, & seal it up? I don’t want water to leak into my car again. Sunroof drains aren’t clogged it’s just the driver side. Also what should I use to seal the Vapor barrier? BMW has butyl tape 83-19-0-153-321 but it says it’s discontinued? There is a new one 83195A1B3F9 which BMW released a new one.

If the vapor barrier is ripped, best to get a new one. But if all in one piece, you can get butyl tape online and re-use the barrier.

Thanks, I’m worried about when I have to remove my trim piece before I unscrew the door panel. My trim piece is kinda cracked. Should I carefully remove the trim without breaking it? Or buy a new trim piece just incase I snap it off?

Is it cracked in the middle or on the end that wraps around and clips in? I'd just try pulling it and hopefully it goes fine. If not, then you can maybe repair it with Gorilla Glue or like you said, just buy a new replacement.

Here’s what my trim looks like. If you see the 2 pictures with my fingers pointing at where it is cracked.

No pictures show up.

By trim, do you mean the door panel/card itself?
If yes, just look at pictures online to see where the clips are and try to feed a trim removal tool right onto them and then pop them out.
People break them by yanking on parts between the clip attachments.

P.S. I'll be posting some pics soon in my thread as I just fixed my vapour barrier leak.

Oh, I see what you mean now, the actual door trim piece.

I would get a few trim removal tools and carefully slide them behind the trim all along so you can pull it away equally along its length. The notch that locates it in the door panel by the A pillar.
