Rad Fan running full blast - drives normal - oil/coolant temps normal
Hey everyone, I have a 2009 e90 335i x drive with the N54 engine.
The car is FBO, VRSF 7.5" step FMIC, CFS aluminum RAD, VRSF charge pipe and VRSF downpipe, stage 2+ tune. I've been hearing the fan come on full blast when driving this week. I'm in Canada and it has been very hot an humid this summer week around 35 degree C (95F). The car has no loss of power No engine lights or codes Coolant temp doesn't go above 225 - usually avg around 210 (maybe 226 when stuck in traffic) Oil temp doesn't go above 120 Does anyone know what could be causing the fan to come one? I know waterpump is usually the cause but coolant/oil temps seem normal? Could it be a faultly temp senor? could the engine ambient sensor cause it to go off? Once the fan kicks in it seems like its on until I shut the car off, it might come off for a second when stopped but then kicks right back on a couple seconds later. I dont drive with AC either. |
