My 6at was slipping when I bought the car a few months ago.

I got my hands on a second 6hp21 to swap in. It has about 80k miles, and the previous owner said it never slipped and was serviced regularly.

I have done a lot of research and was planning on doing a zip kit and replacing seals at the minimum.

I’m debating replacing the clutch packs while I have the trans out of the car. On one hand, it would be reassuring to have new clutches. However, I don’t know if this is necesary since the trans was never slipping to begin with. Especially when there is no upgraded clutch option on the market.

Anyone that knows anything about this transmission, I’d like to hear your 2˘

There technically is an upgraded clutch kit. Precision raceworks makes one and there’s another company that I can’t remember.

Rockauto actually sells ZF ones I believe. If you have the skills to do it, I probably would. Chances are you’re absolutely fine but I don’t trust anyone’s word without proof that it was “serviced regularly”

Precision raceworks clutches are no longer available sadly, they stopped making them. Not sure why.

That was my plan to just go with ZF ones. Don’t want to drop the trans again for a long time😂
