CIC Upgrade Business Nav Screen to Pro Nav 8.8" Widescreen

Hi all,

New to the e90post.com forum! I have a question.

I have a 325d 2010 plate M-Sport with the business nav. I would like to swap the screen to the pro one as its bigger widescreen, generally looks nice and you can split screen.

It is possible to just swap them over? Will the CIC be able to identify and just extend the display?

Any help or advise would be gratefully received.

Thanks!!

You'll need to recode the vehicle. Also if you don't want to use a hardware activation module (like for a regular CIC retrofit). You'll need someone to load all of the FSC codes from your old CIC Business into the CIC Professional, otherwise, voice control, navigation, etc won't work.

Just to change the screen? Not the CIC unit itself?

Literally im just talking about change the screens over. Seen them on ebay for about £150 or the whole lot - Controller, Display, CIC unit for like £900 coded.

Thanks for reply Dracon

Business nav doesn't support a 8.8in screen, it's a feature of the Professional system and they both run different software as they are also both very different pieces of hardware.

Simply put , no you can't just change the screen. You need the screen + professional cic nav unit + emulator and then have the car coded.

He technically doesn't need the emulator if he can find someone who can load the FSC codes from his original CIC into the Professional unit. The Navi Enabler and Voice Control FSCs are the same between the units. He would then just need a FSC code for Europe Premium to be generated against his Navi Enabler FSC.

Then it'd be 100% OEM activation with no emulator.

I am just looking at this post, and wondered if anyone has ever done this. What would you actually see if you fitted a pro CIC screen to a business CIC unit ? I appreciate you would not get fu screen view but would it still work just showing half screen?

I was hoping to get a „half screen“ but instead I got a completely white screen.
