FRM Repair - again
Just got a 2nd hand 07 320i e90 from auction. Mechanically looks perfect with the only issues being NS low beam bulb blown and the OS side flasher and rear OS flasher not working. Assumed easy fix as the HL was a blown bulb, fixed once replaced. Flashers seem.to be fine (confirmed by swapping sides etc) so assume it's short circuits on FRM.
I have very little coding experience, or even a decent laptop to do it, so am looking to pay someone to repair. The issue I have is when googling, there are tons of websites offering the repair and the prices range from £25-£250. Ideally would be a local place (north london) but happy to remove and post myself if required. Not sure if this belongs here but couldn't see where else. |

Those online repairs are irrelevant to your issue. You don’t need to remove the frm to have it repaired, your issue is not frm failure rather just need short circuits reset. This can be done with a kdcan cable and windows laptop

Yeah I have done a fair bit of digging and diagnosis while I wait for the kdcan cable. Is there any legit way to get the INPA software or is it all through torrents etc
Basically I have identified there is continuity between the ground, and the indicator feed from pin 41 on the FRM x14260. Now my only concern is that it is FRM2, I've read that after 50 failed checks on a short, it permanently disconnects the circuit? I'm guessing there is a short to ground somewhere in the loom between FRM and rear indicator but no idea where so going to run a new cable and hopefully that would clear the fault itself? Or does FRM short to ground to protect a short circuit? I'm a mechanical engineer by trade, don't often get involved in the nitty gritty of electrical bug hunting... |

You just need to reset the short circuit for that specific light with a program called tool32. Then the frm will supply power to the bulb that currently doesn’t work
