Anyone have this problem with outside mirror?

I did a search and did not find anything related to my problem. When reversing, the pass mirror tilt, but the mirror does not move back to the original setting after reverse.

I have checked every single fuse in the glove box and they are all good. This just happened after I hit 59K miles and I am using the same key. I will try the other key tomorrow and see if it behaves the same way.

Any idea what is wrong?

No one has any clue?

I have been using my secondary key and the outside mirror does not acts up (see above post for problem description). So what could contribute to this behavior with the primary key?

Use the bad key..

After you put it in gear/drive, adjust your right mirror to the correct position, then switch the mirror selector over to the left.

test.

I think your right mirror was bumped to a crap angle, whilst not in Reverse.

Cheers

Ok, will try that, I hope you are correct that someone bumped my mirror with the "bad" key.

Will report back with test result.

Insert "bad" key and the driver seat moves all the way back (Dont know why it did that). But lucky me, I use the seat memory button to move the seat back the my prefer position. Then I readjusted the pass outside mirror. Remove the "bad" key and insert it again and start driving.

It has been 2 days now and I have done plenty of reverses and the pass outside mirror tilts and then returns to it previous position.

Hmm, so someone knocked and pushed my mirror out of place

knocked mirror is possible.. sometimes just leaning on the switch when cleaning car and ACC is on.

seems okay.

Yup, look like the problem went away after the above process. Very glad I did not have to take the car in for out of pocket service. I do use all my mirrors so I know right away if anyone of them are off position.

I have the same problem with the passenger side mirror. It is possessed. The mirror doesn't return to the memory position after I back up. Then if I press the memory button, it doesn't return to correct position. In fact, it will often go to some extreme position that's nowhere close to what anyone would use. When I unlock the doors with the key fob, it will often move into the wrong position before I even start the car. I have tried to reset the memory setting and that doesn't help. I took it to the dealer and they say there is nothing wrong and they couldn't reproduce it. I have given up and decided I just have to live with it.

Some other things to try, use the second key and see how the mirror behave. Also, I have heard that the motor for the mirror can go bad. There is a thread about this, let me find it for you.

Ahh, found it. There is a faulty drive motor: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161975
