Flammable DTC button

I have a 2008 335i My dtc button caught fire a week or so ago or At least it started visibly smoking. The button was stuck so I replaced that whole switch panel. The first time I pressed it it went to dtc like normal. I pressed it again to turn it off and nothing. Pressed a few more times and nothing. Held it down and Nothing for 30 seconds then it turned all the way off. Couldn’t turn it back on so I turned the car off and on again and now the button does nothing. Today I went to try it again and the second panel shorted and burned. (

anyone seen this before? My guess is the aftermarket radio somehow screwing up the wiring. I have all the included harnesses but I did use a fuse tap for accessory power and the decoder box, so that may create a short. I’m going to get another switch and try again with the factory radio.
