S655 Satellite Tuner Option but not selectable

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 2011 335i and VIN decoder shows option S655 Satellite Tuner but when I go to my audio source options there is no option for satellite, only Tuner, CD, Aux or USB.

Anyone else ever have this issue?

Thank you.

The car may need to be coded to enable it and it might need the option to be changed to aktiv in the radio module.

When I removed it from my e70 removing it from the VO wasn't enough I had to go into the radio module and disable it so that it was no longer in the menu. The opposite might be true if the radio was ever replaced or if it was ever coded with a different VO.

I also removed weatherband on the e70. In this day and age I didn't want either of them in the options list.

Weatherband was the worst... It would always default to WB when I turned the car off instead of staying on aux for my android unit....

Thanks Rich - I am hoping you are right and maybe it is just coding I can do.

Ctuna - I have the Radio Professional, no I-Drive. Decoder options listed below. Thank you.

Multimedia

S645 BMW US Radio

S655 Satellite Tuner

S663 Radio BMW Professional

S688 Harman/Kardon Surround Sound System

S697 Area Code 1 For DVD

S6FL USB/Audio Interface

S6VC Control, Combox

I don't think the 2011 has the module in the trunk ? I thought it was in the head unit itself.

You would have to pull out the Head Unit and look for the satalite
symbol on the Radio to verify that. Or maybe the coding would tell you .
Also you do have to have a subscription.

Got it thanks. I guess my next step is seeing where to look for the SAT coding and see if it's active. If that doesn't work I will pull the radio and check.

lci cars have sirius module inside of the radio or navi unit
but these modules sometimes fail
so you can dig to these unit using inpa to see some info, or you have to consider to replace headunit to get sirius working
