I had them on my previous E46 M3 coupe. They were fine for what they were. Tirerack loves them. They are not meant for the track, but for everyday performance driving.

IMO, no, they are not good. At least not for performance. They are cheap though and you can get them in sizes that most cheaper all-season tires do not come in. In terms of grip, they suck.

They aren't good tires if you want it to grip well.
The only good thing about them is the price.

I have them.. good for the price, or if you drive like a granny. They don't suit my driving style at all, the side wall is too soft for hard cornering. They are sub par for a car like the 335 no doubt. Come spring I will be getting some goodyears or bridgestones. Spend the extra money and get a good tire, you will thank yourself later,

I also have them, they are a cheap tire, but i'm happy so far, The ride is smoother then the rft's and they are great in the rain. I had problems hydro-planning with my stock tires. But, the General's are good.
As far as traction, I feel they bite good for straight line shot, with the rft, I would roast them from a dig. Now, I did loose some corning ability, but today I bumped the tire pressure up to 36 psi, and it seemed to corner better, still rolls a bit, but a lot of that is I have NO sport package. I say go for it, can't beat the price.

They are terrible. If you ever get the opportunity to drive back to back going from something like General Exclaims to Goodyear F1s you won't believe the difference. They have worse traction (but a smoother ride) than the stock RFTs.

tirerack.com and discounttire.com have a ton of reviews on them.
For daily driving I think they are great. I have 235/35-19 and 275/30-19. |

BEWARE Generals run very narrow and their 235/265 set ups are 225/255 in reality and leave your wheels way too exposed. They don't provide rim protection whatsoever. For the price they are great but if you want the cheapest tires out there in that size go with the Nexen's. They are cheaper than Generals and are great for daily driving also.
If you are set on Generals go with 245 fronts and 275 rears for SURE. Even then they are still narrow. |

I've got the General Exclaim UHPs, 245 front 275 rear on 19s.
My baseline comparison is a few thousand miles of the stock RFT, and my other baseline are the bridgestones. While I don't track my car, or take corners at 50mphs, I would say these are excellent tires. I can't comment on the thread life, but from what others have said, they last much longer than other performance tiress. These tires perform excellent, and is right up there with the bridgestones IMO. I've driven at triple digit speeds in the rain, and the wet handling is fantastic (of course, on a closed circuit course ) I think they're better than the NITTOs as well. get them, you won't regret the purcahse

I think the General Exclaim UHP tires are great for daily driving. This is not recommended for any tracking--these tires are made for street daily driving only and even some spirited driving.
I have these on my own car, and they are definitely great tires. They're inexpensive, quiet, lightweight, and it's treadwear rating is at whopping 380. That's really good! I've even driven with these tires pretty aggressive on the street, and they hold up pretty well. I've driven this car for more than 15K at least so far, and it still has a good amount of tread on it. I think the looks of the general exclaim Uhps in 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 are great as well. It doesn't have a stretched look, but it doesn't have that bubbly look as well. It aligns with the face of the wheel, which I feel is just right. |
