Wow, I really thought it was as simple as replacing the transmitter, but still says "TPMS inactive".

I've already replaced the tire sensor, and the transmitter sensor. The errors I'm getting under RDC are:

604E
6057

I cant get to the tpms screen in inpa, because It keeps giving me a error (in the picture below).

So frustrating, If anyone can help me out and get this solved via skpye or teamviewer (preferably in the day/evening), I'll order any coffee/frap/etc you want at Starbucks!

Are you sure they programmed the new sensor?

The trigger or tire sensor?

I first went to discount and they put a functioning tire sensor in the wheel, and tried to reset through the bc, but it keep showing the error.

Then had a rountine maintenance exam done on it, and they said the right rear transmitter needed to be replaced.

Then I ran inpa and carly for bmw after installing a working transmitter, switching the rear transmitters (just to see if the error would travel to the left wheel), and they both showed this error again and again:

The actual in-tire "sensor".

I had to go back to Discount last time they swapped them because they didn't program the new ones. Took 30 seconds for them to program and they were good to go.

The first time one went (Left Rear), they told me the in-tire sensor was fine, I swapped the rear tires in my driveway and the error code moved with the tire. Once it was replaced and programmed, it was good to go.

There isn't any programming of the in tire sensors. I've had new ones shipped with tires before from Tirerack and stood next to the guy installing my tires and sensors. Resetting the tpms via the BC is all that needs to be done when the car is stopped then you drive around until the systems resets. It's easier if you drive on the highway or a straight road. I'm just starting to wonder if OP got the wrong MHz sensor installed.

Resetting did not work in my case (multiple tries and still throwing the codes). Either there is a programming method (as the tech told me) or that discount tire tech deserves a medal for fastest triple TPMS swap out in history.

BimmerGuy and GatorB8 you two are life savers!

Update: I brought it to the dealer, and the SA tells me the transmitter. I told them I already replaced it, and showed them where I purchased, so they called the tech and said it was the tire sensor you pointed out GatorB8.

So I went back to discount tire, and come to find out, the last guy must have never changed the tire sensor! I gave the new guy a sensor I had that was working, and viola, it went away!

Wanted to say thanks to all the people out that helped me. I appreciate it so much!

Great! One of the things I hate about this car is that every time something little goes wrong, it displays warning signs on every screen and won't let you clear them. I'm sure you're glad to be rid of that f'in TPMS error message.

Exactly, and it drove me crazy. Was a good learning experience though. Learned how to jack the car, torque wheels, use a ratchet, and inpa. Think that'll come in handy when its time for front pads, spark plugs, oil change, etc?

Thank you once again!

Hehe bringing this thread from the dead 😂

Im having the same issue with Inactive TPMS Warning light. Today i went out to discount tire ans tested my TPMS sensors and came out good. Not sure if this is accurate because it it only showed good sensor but not how much battery is left on them. My Carly reader says rear left wheel electronics code so I ordered a new sensor and will be replacing it . Also checked and disconnected the RDC module inside the trunk for water access and it looked ok. Mayne a bit discolored but no signs of water. I did have an issue with water coming inside ans had to replaced my Go passive module which is next to RDC module in my E88. Anyway I guess swapping out the tire sensor I bought on Amazon is the next step. 🍻
