Well yeah you made a terrible choice. M3 arms and B4 shocks? That's like getting your car ready for the track but putting on chinese all season tires the day of. Poor shock choice.

Also my ride was really uncomfortable for about a week when I allowed the ride to settle before I got an alignment.

When I did my B6's many years ago, the ride is a bit 'brittle' for the first several hundred miles. Then they break in and the car is extremely solid.

Hi, this is probably the most recent thread about it...
I need to replace front tension struts and thinking to get either OE Lemforder or TRW struts from "upgrade" kit.
Can I replace just these struts and not the full kit?

You can pretty much buy and replace all the individual parts. From my experience I'd buy more parts if you think they are worn out. If you're over 120k miles for sure. This exact situation is happening to me right now and it's throwing off my alignment badly. I've got new m3 arms, tie-rods, wheel bearing, and misc. stuff but now my struts are blown. Should have replaced them when I did the arms and had everything apart. Cheers.

I am about to replace the front control arms in my 2009 328i m sport. I put in Bilstein sport shocks with new strut mounts and shock mounts a couple years ago.
Recently the car has developed a high frequency shake above 95mph. Tire wear in front shows outer camber wear on right front. Tires are Mich PS AS4+ with @ 55k miles and still have good tread.
Anyway, after installing M3 front control arms can the car be driven safely 9 miles to the alignment shop?

With new arms I recommend you to perform simple toe front adjustment. Due to the fact that camber arm from M3 is longer (this is giving additional camber) after installing you will have massive toe in on the front. Even by eye adjust wheels to straight position. Without that it will be very tricky even to push the car

Remember not to buy TRW control arm from Malaysia (this bigger one). They are coming without any marking at all. Just buy camber arm from TRW with removed ///M mark, and buy normal Lemforder big control arm, and just replace bushing. You will avoid massive problems with those arms from Malaysia (I made thread about them, how to replace those bushes).

FYI I bought and installed the 034 Motorsport M3 front control arm kit, it seems to be working well so far and was the same price as the TRW kit for the 4 arms in question. Good alternative option if there's still a concern about quality of the TRW parts.

That's what I have. Not enough miles on it to have much of an opinion, but install was fine!
