328i N52k Crank but no Start
I'm slowly working through a Crank but No start on this 2007 328i with the N52k.
The current codes are: 2DEB - The BMW code 2DEB refers to an issue with the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) power management system in the vehicle’s electrical system 2ACC - The BMW fault code 2ACC typically indicates an issue with the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) main relay. This code often points to a problem with the power supply to the DME, which can prevent the car from starting or cause it to crank without starting 2ACB - The BMW error code 2ACB refers to an issue with the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) master relay activation 2E8B - The BMW fault code 2E8B is related to the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS). This sensor monitors the battery’s condition, including voltage, current, and temperature. When this code appears, it typically indicates an issue with the IBS itself or the communication between the IBS and the vehicle’s control modules 2E85 - The BMW fault code 2E85 indicates an issue with the electrical cooling pump communication. This code typically points to a problem with the communication between the Digital Motor Electronics (DME) and the electric water pump 2A9A - The fault code 2A9A for a BMW E90 indicates an issue with the camshaft position sensor. Specifically, it means the inlet camshaft sensor signal is invalid for synchronization Pulling up to a stoplight, put the car into neutral and the battery warning came up, followed by limp mode, and the engine started revving like a pulse from 1k-1.2k at maybe about 100bmp. I took the valve cover off and put timing equipment on it and ensured everything is in time. It actually did the same thing with a few of the same codes about 6 weeks back and took it to a shop. They said it was the "hub"(that the position sensor reads) on the Camshaft adjuster that came loose. They tightened it up, cleared codes, put it back together, and it was fine for 6 weeks. I opened the Valvecover and put timing equipment on and double checked that everything is in time and that hub is not loose so something else is causing this. I just replaced the Main relay for the DME, but it still cranks with no start and the codes above. I tried a brand new battery first and registered, and that is in there. Thoughts? I had the same issue. I should change the title. I didn't have increase battery discharge. I replaced the DME relay. Blue relay under the hood. It around $21 to replace it worth a try.
