I bought 4 aftermarket N52 intakes to compare the sound (vid attached)

I installed and recorded Turner Motorsport, Gruppe M replica, Dinan Ram, and aFe intakes today to do an accurate comparison of sound.

The Gruppe M had the most unique sound. A low growl. Good sound in cabin but less than the Turner

The Turner was the loudest, and had a whispy sound. Very audible from in cabin.

The Dinan Ram was the quietest with a subtle "factory" intake note. Hard to hear in cabin with a full exhaust.

The aFe sounded like the Dinan Ram but louder

I'm planning on running dyno tests of these all back to back

Also Gruppe M sounds amazing.

I did a comparison back &+ years ago. I think the Injen intake sounded the best and had the best powerband. Added like 5-10WTQ over the others in midrange - AFE made the most peak power though.

How are you running this with ITBs?

They pop up for sale used sometimes. They used to be sold on eBay but the seller stopped making them.

Interesting, one of the guys in the N52 Facebook group had said he lost power on the dyno with the Injen, but I didn't look into it deeply.
The Injen is definitely the loudest, I used to have it on my car as well. I wish I still had it to compare.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing the results you had too.

I'm not running any of these with the velocity stacks, I'm just making some videos on them to put out to the community and then selling them. There's no need for a stock placement airbox with the "ITB" setup. =)

I'm still trying to get into my photobucket for pictures - but I lost 1-2whp peak on the dyno as well when it go hot with the Injen. I didn't run a heat shield and I did not run a fan on the engine bay. On road and driving I would say it would make that back and then some - it also consistently had a more broad powerband (probably due to it's increased piping diameter.

Give me a day or 2 more to figure it out. I bumped the old thread.

Perhaps try adding the Mishimoto and other intake hoses (between MAF and throttle) as well?
