E90 335i N55 Rarity

So just over a month ago I picked up a space gray w/black interior, 2011 335i M-Sport with a 6-speed manual trans and without iDrive. I'm curious on how rare (or common) this configuration is. Does anyone have any data regarding production numbers? When I was looking for the car there were no more than 7 or 8 manual 2011 E90s for sale, and only one other had the M-Sport package.

SickFinga has a thread over in another forum where he can look this stuff up for you. Replay with your VIN and he normally gets back in a day or so.

http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/show...57862&page=161

What do you want to know? specifcally 2011 LCI cars or whole e90 production runs.

The M-sport stuff and 6MT definitely make it less common. SGM and schwartz interior is more common and things like adaptive headlights and heated seats will make it a bit more rare... if it was a wagon it might be as low as a 1 of 3 or 4 for the entire production run of e90s and 1 of 1 for 2011. But considering the number of sedans, you are probably looking at 1 of a hundred or so, maybe more.

Thanks for the info! I have the adaptive headlights and heated seats. I was just looking for the production numbers of the 2011 335i M-Sports with manual trans and my color combo in North America. I also have the aluminum glacier trim as well, which doesn't seem very common per that thread.

No problem... yeah the trim will make it a bit more rare... I bet if you get into the nitty gritty for 2011 there aren't more than 30 or 40 cars running around that match, maybe a couple thousand for the entire production run.

Unicorns really only come in the form of e91's e93's and a few of the rare bird editions like 335is.

I didn't expect it to be a unicorn since it is an E90, but I figured with the options it wouldn't be too common. It's unfortunate there weren't the E91 335i's in the States.

Seriously, it's actually why I got a RWD wagon... I will swap a n54 at some point, its always been the goal, but it just been too reliable for me to justify tearing it apart

I'm surprised how "rare" I spot E90/E92 335i tbh

I know most people view my car as just another 3-series, but I don't see nearly as many M-Sports, and I know manuals also aren't common based on my searches. It's just something I was curious about.

Maybe because its Canada? Here in So Cal I would venture to guess I see more turbo powered cars than not... at least in the e9x chassis, F chassis you see more 4 cy cars than I6's.

Probably why yeah. I've seen more 435i's than 335i's.

I'm sure you guys have a lot more x-drive cars up there too. Even in Chicago and the suburbs they've been increasingly more common recently

Oh yeah for sure. But I'm RWD gang hahaha. X drive is useless unless you live in middle of no where here.

I am too! It's a requirement of mine hahah. Winters have been mild anyway here, and I've never had any issues getting places with RWD cars in the past. Even with just all-season tires

Just a little update, SickFinga from the thread over in maxbimmer got back to me with this info: "589 - 2011 BMW 335i Sedan (PM53) - NA painted in Space Grey Metallic (A52) with Black Dakota Leather (LCSW) interior were built for the US market. 59 manual (35 are M Sport), 530 automatic (178 are M Sport)." It's one of 35 in the States, which is pretty cool to me at least.
Then, "The most rare option in this car is the option S710A - M leather steering wheel. It was installed on 330 out of 5,633 cars."
