In the long run was this comparison worth it?

Either way, thanks for being willing to take it on.

Doesn't surprise me at all how this whole thing turned out. Ultimately what I take from this is sealed = better hp while open = better torque. I'm glad I don't have the open style AFE anymore, not worth it with that spread in power vs mbox.

Thank you for your efforts. I do not think that MAF stopped you from showing the giains of Ingen, its previous dynos did show TQ gains dominant.

Also a 3 stage IM for you is a worthy update worth about 15hp and 15 tq. Your current dyno's final numbers may indicate to be on the same level as full bolt, but I attribute these differences to the dyno, unless you have a better idea ie cars age etc .

Thanks for the comparison and data. I'm new to the BMW family and want to squeeze a little more out of my 328. Intake and exhaust are the first two areas I was going to hit followed by the intake manifold and a tune.

I wanted to confirm the the Mbox is the charcoal filter delete? I was surprised to see such close results with all three. Any options regarding gains from the Euro air box?

Dinan kit can be copied with some DIY. It is all in the euroMod thread by dj alex

Euro airbox is different from AFE magnum closed as follows:
- missing two openings in the front. This is alot like the Euro Performance intake- which adds about 17-20% in air openings with the new snorkel from the kidneys.
- pipe from airbox to throttle body has no muffler, therefore afe is louder and potentially with slightly better airflow.
- smooth insides & lid. Euro box has waffle design inside.

Eurobox & US Airbox can be modified as follows
- silicone smooth pipe from box to throttle body. Adds some drone/noise
- charcoal delete for USA airbox
- cutting holes into box, and routing from colder feeds like Dinan or Mr 5 intake

Has any one ever deleted the piece on the bottom of the tubing of number 10 in the diagram? Or is this the muffler everyone is talking about..I have a feeling it is haha I kind of want to try it. Drone won't really bug me. Or should I get intake piping and mod it that way.

I have that deleted, but I don't think it's worth much.

Can't say I'm surprised by the results, But props Axiom for getting out there and putting this together for the N/A community! This will certainly help new folks and existing members on intake solutions for our cars! Good job man!

Sticky this mods!!!

good stuff Axiom. while there are always variations on dyno pulls, even when everything is exactly the same, at least it's conclusive that intakes do offer gains on the N52.

Run 2 Blue is the Highest 'Base' Run.
Run 1 Red is Injen
Run 2 Green is Injen
Run 3 Dark Blue is Injen

Even when heatsoaked, the lowest Injen run torque was higher.

mr_ice15@yahoo.com dyno time is going to be $85/hr.

It will be baseline - stock intake with OE tune

Stock intake box with carbon filter removed dryflow filter and OE tune

Injen Intake

AFE Intake box

Hoping for Thurday-Saturday to get this done, comments are always welcome.
It took some time, but I found them.
Red is the Injen
Blue is the AFE
Green is the stock airbox with a drop in filter, and carbon delete. I think it had the hose as well.
