325i N52B25 manual swap using GS6-53BZ possible?

Hi,
Have a 325i 2008 automatic with auto transmission. I'm contemplating a manual swap and was wondering if it was possible (without too much effort) to mate it to a GS6-53BZ which seems to be the better of manual transmissions on the E90. Looking at GS6-53BZ instead of GS6-17BG (which came factory with manual 325i) because it can also take more torque if I swap the engine for a more powerful one in the future.

Please note:
Manual E90s were never sold in my country. So just getting a manual car is not possible. Only swaps. The gearbox itself I would have to import from elsewhere.

Help appreciated.
Thanks!

The Getrag GS6-17BG is standard equipment in the US market on the 325i and 328i mated to N52B30 engine. Unless you're contemplating a N54 swap or something you should be fine power handling wise.

I understand. I am also thinking of swapping engine in future which is why I'm considering the stronger gearbox. Getting these imported is going to be tough. So would rather get the better gearbox the first time around.

Was wondering what all complications I would face for 53BZ swap on the N52.

I understand that but wondering what engine you're thinking of swapping in that will need it unless you're thinking of going turbo, are you? I was thinking you meant something like swapping in a 3.0l N52 with a 3 stage manifold or something. The GS6-53BZ is the N54 gearbox, I've seen posts of people who have swapped them to an N52 but it involves some drilling and grinding to make them fit, IE the holes are slightly off N54 vs. N52. If you're not going turbo your best choice would be the GS6-37BZ, that was standard on the 330i N52 in US market. Use the forum search you cn find posts about the swap you're thinking of.
