Idrive retrofit fiber optic cables
Hi,
Pulling out the 2011 cic e92 idrive system from friends car to swap onto my single hump 2011 e90 335i. I was able to pull the dash out with no issues. Was able to get the glovebox cable and the pink fiber optic cable for the screen. The rest of the 3 fiber optics seems like they go to the trunk? Its black, pink, and blue. Do I need to yoink the telematics unit in the trunk also? |

Do you have Logic7? The MOST distribution block is in the rear close to where the amp and telematics go so if you dont have L7 or nav or telematics you may not have any currently running back there but I believe all US cars have it

Just an FYI, those colored cables are not fiber optic, but RF for antennas. The MOST fiber cables are the black and green pairs above your hand in the first pic.

I have hifi system. Believe my friend has the same also since no harmon kardon.
I pulled out the connector for the idrive screen and was able to depin it. For the idrive controller i was able to seperate the wires from their respective splice. I am stuck on connector x11003 which houses the postive wire for the idrive controller. How do depin it? Also on connecting the can wires and power ground. Can I splice the idrive can wires and idrive controller wires together so they can be pinned into the connector on the front of the jbe? Same goes for power and ground question.
