335I hardtop trunk lock problem

MY 2007 BMW 335I (E93) Trunk lid latches but will not pulldown and lock automatically. The dash displays a trunk open warning, and the hardtop cannot be lowered. The keyfob and pushbutton under dash and key opens the trunk.
I have checked fuses and the trunk the locks do not appear to have individual protected circuits. I suspect that the latch microswitches are faulty and are not sending a signal to the pulldown motors.
Any help in troubleshooting this problem would be greatly appreciated, as i'me
sure this is not the first time a trunk lid has failed to lock automatically.

Garage List
Mine did the same. Get a 'dust off' air can for keyboards and spray in the circular areas that the lid hooks into. If you part open the roof, basically the 3 layers and get all areas it may do the trick. Worked for me.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response, maybe i did not explain the problem clearly, the hardtop is not indicating it is not correctly stowed, basically the trunk lid will latch but will not pull down and lock, this creates an interlock error and the hardtop will not deploy.

Convertible Trunk fails to lock

I have a 2007 335i Convertible and this winter the Trunk stooped locking. When the Trunk interior lights come on, the Trunk locks correctly; When the interior Trunk lights do not come on, the trunk fails to lock and I get the "Trunk Open" indicator. The BMW dealer today said, "let's start" by changing the Trunk Lid Lock Actuator a $1K fishing expedition test, which I refused. Since the Trunk doesn't lock, the Hardtop fails to open. Any ideas?

Convertible Trunk fails to lock

Were you (bmwbritpat) able to figure out how to solve the Trunk locking problem? I (FirstTimerBMW) have now developed the same problem. Please advise. Thanks

Did y'all ever get this sorted. I have the same issue. So far haven't found the issue. Locks open/close and end switches look to work. Trunk light comes on/off. Actuators to pull trunk closed don't do anything.
