130,000 regular service, covering the last few maintenance items whilst MC is home.
The rear cargo cover attachment broke and the driver's seat motor or track is really squeaky/grindy, guess I'll have to look into those sooner rather than later.

Another weekend, another job... had a CEL which was caused by a DMTL code... leak detection pump on the charcoal canister. Luckily I had one in the parts bin that I picked a few years ago, so pretty easy job of swapping it out. I forgot which car I pulled from, but whichever it was the canister itself could just be swapped out. Three screws, NBD.

Next job: Hacky fix for the cargo cover!

now THIS is a repair I am definitely following this thread for -

first, that is a beautiful e91 that I am glad is in your hands -

the parcel shelf thing with broken tabs has been a burr in the saddle for FAR too long.

I first went down the path of fixing the broken pieces back together with jbweld type stuff along with some reinforcement on top of the plastic with the hopes that would hold.

alas, the launch of the n52k is just too much for the lateral forces at work on that parcel shelf monstrosity, so my current thinking is cutting out the pastic with a dremel and recreating the 'hooking lip' that the monstrosity slides into utilizing a metal/steel single gang lightswitch blank, and cutting that to fit into each side.

my thought is in addition to jbweld type stuff to glue the new cut metal lightswitch blank to the monstrosity, then drilling through that into the shelf and securing with something else - like pop rivits?

Thanks, it's a great car I'm happy to keep on the road.
Here's the DIY I'm going to be following, sounds like the same one you're looking at?

I'm trying to figure out how to do the bends Montegowagon makes.

Success!

I followed Montegowagon tutorial for the cargo cover repair, and it came out 90% good to go! I'm still a little worried about the passenger side holding as I couldn't get the metal bent properly on that side. But it's holding for now!

Here's my write up adding to the original DIY post: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...02&postcount=9

This thread really makes me wish my 6 year old was older so I could justify another e91 for her to drive! We even live in Santa Cruz! Some day...
