I would go with belt tensioner, the 2 pulleys and belt before looking into the alternator. Had the same noise and it was from the belt tensioner

My friend's N55 had a similar noise and it ended up being his fan. The next most likely IMO would be your power steering pump.

whyzee125 thanks! Im leaning towards probably power steering pump as I recently flushed the fluid with CHF 11s, but the wheel still feels "heavy" and also there is some vibration in the steering wheel at low speeds around tight corners. Do you have any thoughts on how i could confirm a failing PS pump before DIY?

Unfortunately not—the only pumps I’ve ever replaced were due to noise but usually functioned normally as far as steering feel goes.

Belt + tensioner and idler pulleys needed.

Replace that mickey mouse flange with an aluminum one while you're at it before it leaves you stranded.
