Has anyone found a problem? ((((
The error shows even when driving calmly. It is good to go for a week and everything will be fine, and maybe in a day to show. Sorry for my English Last edited by Serhio; 09-15-2018 at 02:45 AM.. |

I don’t know what the dependence of the knock sensors on the vanos is...but I cleaned my vanos over 2 months ago and I haven’t gotten the 2E68 since...

Hi, Guys ! Did someone find the original issue for this error code ?
I've got the same error code 2E68 Knock-sensor signal 1 on my BMW N46B20B Engine. After this I replaced my knock sensor, but nothing changed. The error continues to show. After this I noticed a very strange knock sounds from the Engine bay in range between ~ 2K- 3K RPM Video - * The problem was identified and resolved Guys if you get a code from knock sensor check the car in service immediately! The function of this sensor is to "listen" for unusual knock signals from the engine cylinders. If find any error codes related to the knock sensor are registered. In my case the engine has almost died! 4 from 5 services suggested me to replace the Engine with the same from the same car but on low millage. Thankfully one service decided to check out and disassembly the engine. The original problem was the rod bearings. They were almost gone! You can check the video! They measured precisely the crankshaft and for my luck, the crankshaft was not affected/damaged. The reason of this catastrophic failure was fake oil they said . I always used Castrol but here in my fucking country there is a lot of fake stuffs one of them is this oil brand. Last edited by Aleksandro; 03-05-2022 at 09:29 AM.. Hey...I replaced the sensor and it fixed mine. If that’s not the case then you might have an issue with your rocker arms. There was another owner here who had that issue.

So, if the 2E68 code persists after replacing the knock sensors, how do I know if it is a mechanical failure with the engine? How do I know if it is rocker arms,, rod bearings, or something else?

Just out of curiosity, is anyone NOT using premium gas here? I have the same codes and noticed it about the same time I started using 89 in my car instead of 91 or 93. I will try filling up with 93 to see if that fixes the issue for me.

3100 boost pressure control deactivation. With a 2e68 knock-sensor 1
Got the same code yesterday. And a month back. Looking to see if anyone has experienced the same codes and knows an alternative fix for this problem.
3100 boost pressure control deactivation. With a 2e68 knock-sensor 1 I know this is an old thread but I hope someone is still watching. For me to get ride of this code I have to turn off the car let it rest for 5 minutes. Plug in my code reader and clear it, let it idle for 5 minutes then drive. If I just clear the codes turn the car on and start to drive the code comes back around 2k rpm, if I let the car sit like expected earlier the code will clear and I can drive again for another 2-4 weeks before it comes back again. Appreciate if anything has had the same problem / code and knows how to solve it. Thank you, Dave. |
