I have always been fascinated by this lyric from Californication. It says so much in so few words:

A reference to Star Trek.
A reference to Nirvana, Foo fighters (spheres) and Bowie (Station To Station)
And a reference to Star Wars.

The "Spheres" were known to cover Bowie music early in their formation. Of course, "Foo Fighters" were glowing spheres of light seem by WWII pilots and often reported as 'UFOs".

I've heard that said about Lemmy and a few others as well.
