David Gilmour - Luck and Strange
David Gilmour - Dark and Velvet Nights And a different version of what I posted just a little while back. I think Romany has a nice voice. David Gilmour - Between Two Points (with Romany Gilmour) [Tour Rehearsal]

A real blast from the past. Love the Beatles riff (I Feel Fine) and shout out.

I have always been fascinated by this lyric from Californication. It says so much in so few words: "Space may be the final frontier, but it's made in a Hollywood basement And Cobain, can you hear the spheres singing songs off Station To Station? And Alderaan's not far away, it's Californication" A reference to Star Trek. A reference to Nirvana, Foo fighters (spheres) and Bowie (Station To Station) And a reference to Star Wars. The "Spheres" were known to cover Bowie music early in their formation. Of course, "Foo Fighters" were glowing spheres of light seem by WWII pilots and often reported as 'UFOs".

Motörhead – Ace Of Spades "As one of the greatest bassists in hard rock, Lemmy played the bass with more attitude than anybody, with a grisly tone that defied you to think of the bass as a support instrument. Half the times you think you’re hearing lead guitar on a Motörhead record (including the intro to “Ace Of Spades”), it’s really Lemmy wailing away." https://www.udiscovermusic.com/stori...t%20instrument. Don't necessarily agree with everything they say here, like the ranking of the bass players, but I do like what they say about Lemmy. Last edited by Esteban; Yesterday at 09:21 PM.. |
