I wanted to do the same with my pillars but the first one I tried taking off was a no go.

The passenger A pillar bolt just spins. I tried all the usual moves but gave up.
I think a nut that is heat stamped in place was popped out by a previous owner or meat fisted mechanic.

3PedalJake I still have that spare Sport steering wheel that came on my 330 if you're interested. I have a kit to refinish the leather on two other steering wheels and I can do that one too, just needs the coating touched up.

Thanks, it's looking pretty good. The driver's B pillar is pretty worn down, but the rest was just dirty/faded.

And I've been there, man... it was a heat exchanger I was trying to pull. But the engine was dropped when they pulled the cats out. I almost had it but ended up rounding off the bottom small bolt on the oil filter housing. Had to walk on that one after spending an hour or so trying to get it out.

It fits fine, I haven't noticed any fitment issues at all. I'll imagine I'll eventually get an actual M Sport wheel if I fall into one, in fact I have a pre-LCI one from an automatic with paddles in storage right now. Definitely thicker and great feel! I have a bunch of bits an pieces for when the next E91 comes along (the other kids are jealous!). I have a M Sport knob right now, but don't have the matching bellows. It has a slightly different shape to the collar part so won't match up to what I have. I'd like to get the sills some day as well, but very low priority. I don't have much of a drive to get the exterior parts. If I ever need to refresh the bumpers I'll probably go with M Sport just on principle though!

Thanks lowrydr310. I ended up doing the sew on wrap on both of mine along with painting the center trim. Came out OK I think, makes the wheel nice and meaty fat which I like.

Retrofitted Servotronic (option code 216) on my EPS-equipped E90 with the help of ISTA-P (possibly the only way to do it). The integration level of the ISTA-P was higher than that of the car when doing it which meant that most modules stayed at a lower integration level. Which did not give me too much peace of mind.

That is why I then proceeded to a full car reprogramming lasting around 2 hours. Which was a little bit scary because even though I did it with an ICOM (very risky with a simple OBD cable), I only had a 50Amp power source. Which was on the point of being overwhelmed by the tank ventilation system power drain. A power source with 90-100 Amp power is indeed needed for modern BMW cars or the risk of dropping under 13V is very real. All warnings found online about this are true.

The bonus of the operation: the new integration and patch level made the transmission shift smoother than before. Updating all modules to the latest integration level is worth it despite the general wearyness showed by some people and some dealers regarding this operation.

Turn the wheel over, there are a few small screws that mate it to the wheel. I remember replacing my beat up trim with the M Sport trim and Sport wheel. Of course, it's a gateway drug as I've since replaced with a Napa leather M Sport wheel.

I know the screws, I just noticed the M-sport and M3 steering wheel trim are more squared off, while the regular Sport steering wheel trim is more curved. I wasn't sure if they were compatible with each other, but sounds like they fit just fine.

Yeah it sure is a gateway drug, I just picked up a Napa leather M3 wheel for my 335. Then I found a set of M-sport door sills. I need new front carpet mats and believe it or not I can only find the M3 ones and I thought about it, but that might be too much.

Next thing you know I'll have M badges on the front fenders and a rear M335i badge and colored grill slats. Heck I should just get a giant //M decal on the back window too.

yeah, floor mats are either M3 or ''sport line'' or naked.

I was about to get some plain mat, with red stitches, and melt a rectangle to fit a M Performance badge.

However I own M sport OEM bmw mats, but they are slippery and grey, they look always dirty.
Ive put the scotch bright spray, does not really help.

Anyway, they are fine for the moment

New (old) driver door lock actuator

Got some time to install the door lock actuator I pulled from an '11 E90. Works great, a bit quieter than the rest. Also repaired overflow hose with a new clamp, no more blue streaks down that side of the underbody.

The Homelink bridge wasn't as delayed as I thought. Side by side, bridge was 3 seconds and updated UGDO module was 2 seconds. Added a quart of oil to the 328

I'd take slippery and gray over the 4 year old rubber mats. I have the BMW rubber mats and they were fine for the first few months but they don't look so good now. They work well, but don't give the car that premium feel like cloth mats do.

Pressure wash them. They will look like new. I felt same as you till I had rubber in my f31. Now I love them.

black generic one are the best since it's easy to dye them back.
When they starting to wear and get dirty, I put them in the washing machine and then use Fabric spray paint black matt.

And them it looks like new. About every 1.5y this need to be done.

it didnt work a bit !

I brushed them with Oxy clean powder, then dewax , then scrotchbrite fabric protector.

I love my BMW all weather mats. After a good clean even years later they look like new. I remember getting a bottle of Eco All Purpose Cleaner from Adams Polishes in a Mystery Bucket once. Best mat cleaner I ever had. I'd imagine Simple Green would do the trick too. The key is a thick bristled brush to really agitate those pores

Do you have the new style or the old style? It seems like they used to look like the e46 mats which to me look good but the ones on Tischer and FCP now look like those weird F30 ones which I'm not a fan of.

I have the carpet factory ones but I'd get the all weathers if I could find the old style.

This style. Granted they haven't been cleaned in a couple months. Even with excessive wear they look good imo. Not sure how many miles these have seen, but my other set has half as much wear with 6 years/65k miles on them

The old style all-weather mats have been discontinued for at least 5 years, as I couldn't find them when I bought my E90. I bought the new style and really like them. Of course they fit nice, and they are much easier to clean as they don't have all those thin lines.

BMW also discontinued the black E90 carpet mats. I found one online store that had a few left in stock and paid a ton for them, but figured it was my only chance. Don't plan to use them until the original carpet ones are threadbare!

Second FLA mirror came in. Took it apart to verify it had the new homelink and it did! The buttons weren't functioning properly and as it turns out they added a piece of foam (anti vibration) about 3x thicker than the mirror sitting next to it. Swapped out foam and all is good. Also swapped the red LED with a blue one in the clown nose. Hopefully it works. It's the same size but the contacts are a little different. Figured why not! It's different and both cars now have a shallow, smoked clear nose instead of a giant red one
