People whined SO MUCH when they went to the vinyl covered ones! "It looks cheap". But I am with you, the vinyl is better and far more practical.

I do miss certain aspects my old pre-LCI E90 compared the LCI, but the sun visor is definitely not one of them!

Pre-LCI I like the mirrors, seat heater buttons being remotely located, and having a trunk key lock.
Much prefer LCI grill/hood interface, headlights, taillights and the CIC.
LCI is definitely preferred, although 2009 models are LCI but still have remote seat heater buttons, so the perfect year for me!

enthusiast point of view yes, but 90% of people wont see the difference.

Even wiht my LCI conversion, everyone call me crazy since there's no difference, unless I point them.

Before becoming myself e90 enthusiast, I hardly find the difference, but headlights since the amber is pretty visible.

LCI tail light I'm still not convinced, yes more modern with LED and hard cut, but the hard cut in the continuity is a bit odd, like people retrofitted other brand tail lights back in f&f era.

I see the difference but not in a good way. I look at the LCI hood and think why did they need to put those creases in that beautiful open expanse of sheet metal. I'll grant you the orange headlights, not the most aesthetically pleasing aspect of gen1.

I tell you, I LOVE my blackline taillights... best of both world IMO!
I may do LCI headlight conversion at some point.
And with the grill, I guess I really just don't like the little inserts above the kidneys. That's just so tacked on.

There are two cars that would make me seriously consider selling my 330... 2009 335i 6MT or any 335d. Both are LCI... the 09 335 has the N54!

Replaced both xenon bulbs in the 335i. Also concurrently replaced the bulbs in the 997.2. Xenarc originals went in the 335i, the laser night breakers in the 997.2. What a difference! The original bulbs were definitely in need of replacement.

The Nightbreakers are totally worth it, though, and I’m ordering a pair to stick in the 335i, which will be donating its new bulbs to the F10.

However, it looks link something weird is up with my passenger side projector - looks like a dark spot? It was there before but I figured it was a dying bulb.

Anyone encounter this before? Didn’t think our cars were known for having issues with burned projector bowls…

Replaced handbrake shoes and all associated hardware on the hub, only thing remaining was the handbrake cable. No meat left on old shoes was literally metal on metal, explains why it did absolutely nothing and handbrake was near 90 degrees at max position. Nice to have a working handbrake lol.

Won a brand new LCI xenon headlight assembly on eBay for $200 (driver side). So that’s obviously going in…

Debating about what to do with the passenger side assembly. It’s pitted, I can try restoring it again but will still be visibly different than the brand new side.

But my drivers side assembly will definitely be up for sale on here!

I had great results using my DA polisher with compound, polish and ceramic coating. The project didn’t take much time but I would suggest giving it a try.

Zero drama on the actual removal. Maybe two hours working slowly. I removed the front headrests, moved the seats all the way forward, played with the tilt and dropped the seat backs all the way down to get some good clearance. The rear lower seat cushion was already out to pull the door gaskets, so the headliner went right out the back door with just a little bit of wiggling.

I discovered the M Sport one is missing the rear retaining clip so yanked it from the old one and am gluing it on overnight. Oh, it's also missing the alarm wiring so I'll swap that out as well. Wasn't expecting that job but pretty minor.

Sunroof has been easy so far. Just followed the Lucky Needle's instructions and it's back in place with just a loose fit. Fingers crossed it's easy to center! Will report back with my findings!
I'm in the process of doing my e82. getting the headliner out the car with the glass in was such a PITA. Glad to see the e90 gives more room. Will make me want to do it even more now. I saw the following post showing you're half way there. Can't wait to see the finish product!

Keeping the black headliner theme going, today I got the final piece and now it's a full black headliner.
Debating the removal of the visors' stickers as it will leave a distinct area where it is darker than the rest..... Maybe in the future. Will see.

Were the old A pillars or C pillars any good? My A pillars have. some wrinkling at the bottom that I never got around to fixing. I've been looking for a junkyard set but most are too filthy.

Fabric was all pretty good. I got lucky and the donor was pretty clean and I got there just a couple days after it went on the lot. Driver's B pillar was worn from getting in/out over the years, but now that it's installed I don't even notice it. It's actually kind of weird how I don't notice any of it, but in a good way. It just seems perfect!

Bought a OE ZKW passenger side headlight as well. I know myself: it's one thing to have two lights which have been restored in the past, another thing to have one brand new assembly and one restored one.

I'll be putting my two old assemblies up for sale here (and on eBay later if there are no takers.) The drivers' side one is still fine, puts out PLENTY of light, the passenger side one less so (but perhaps I have been installing the bulb wrong?)
Worst case they make excellent donors for someone doing an LCI conversion / needing a pair of lights to send out to be customized, etc.

They're still fine at night but I do a lot of night driving, and here in GA the highways are not lit up. Any help I can get is the difference between hitting a deer and not. Also looking forward to finally owning a car with pristine headlights

Pre-LCI mirrors > LCI mirrors for sure.
The design of the needles (tach and speedo) also changed.
Although I prefer pre-lci in general especially 2006 models with more hp/tq.

I do like being able to see with LCI mirrors... that's a plus for sure!
But the original ones look so much nicer!
2006 330i should have been the standard base model after they released the 335i. Going down to the 328i didn't benefit anyone!
