installed new zf pan and now car won't go into any gear

2010 BMW 335i M, stage 2+ tune. I drained the transmission fluid dropped the zf pan, installed new pan and put in about 5 quarts of fluid. That's all it would take till I warm it up. While I was warming it up, I wanted to move it back some but it wouldn't go into reverse, or drive?

Do I have to do a trans reset or something? I didn't mess with anything else other than new pan and fluid?

What are your thoughts?

You shouldn't have to do a trans reset at all.
Did you get it up to temp and then run through all the gears and top off after that?
That's basically the ZF process.

Did warm it up, but didn't run through the gears will do that today. Used liquid molly 1800 as the trans fluid.

something is off here, a pan and fluid fill cannot cause this...
wonder if accidentally that shift lever on the side of the pan is disengaged.

As Sgop335 mentioned, it sounds like the shift linkage got disconnected somehow. This can happen easily when you drop the valve body, but not from just a pan and fluid change. Sadly, the only way to verify internally is to drain and drop the pan again, but it can't hurt to check the cable and linkage on the outside first.

^^^ What autoart asked... Did you top off with the car running? If not, you're low on fluid.

We will warm it up, I think it has to get to between 85 deg and 120 deg.

Your trans is obviously not quite full but if it took 5 quarts and still won't move, something's wrong. You're probably within 1-2 quarts of full. Does it try to at all? Do the RPMs drop at all when it's put into gear?

This part at 5:22 in particular, although I think comments sound spot on that a linkage might be disloged:
