When you get it, connect new cluster ot car temporarily and read the guage programming off it, then swap the faces and nicer needles over on the 328… and use perfekt to convert your 328 cluster to have temp, and install the matching stepper motor steps that the 335 cluster used on rpm and mph to correctly index the mph and tach sweep since the font and everything is slightly different on 335.

Takes a couple of hours, but beats having to try to revirginize a cluster which takes even longer amd is more of a hassle.
I'd really like to do this changeover. I don't mind the instant fuel economy gauge, but an oil temp gauge would be so much better. And an voltmeter.

I dont know if they use generic pictures and sent me a nice set, but I wont complain. The rubber ban around is different than the non-M version and seem like it wear out faster. I use plastic restorer on mine and they look good.

Also mine are ''gel'' like M-logo, they dont scratch. Like some I saw locally on FB, they look solid plastic/metal and they are all scratched.
I got mine from Ireland, $15 plus another $20 shipping so not bad. They're the jelly style. No scratches, but the drivers side has some minor dents underneath in the shiny metal part, still cleaner looking than the original ones I replaced though.

Do it! It was literally the very first mod I did on mine. Long before I knew how to take anything apart, work on anything etc…

Below are two pics, one has pre LCi original 325 cluster 2006, with 335 faces in front the other is the converted 325->335 back assembled.

Font is slightly different, spacing is slightly different on tachometer due to lower redline,
needles on pre LCi 325/8 end at circle and don’t go “thru” the circle base, the ‘needle’ shape tapers out/disappears atop them, etc.
btw LCI needles are easier to see in daytime due to being white on top, and they also illuminate brighter against the gauge face at night.

I hope this helps!
The font on the pre-lci tach looks more e46ish or is that just me?. Good to know. Thanks for the info!

I had an e39 with the fuel gauge, was a V8 so it kind of puts your attention on your driving style and that needle is constantly dancing on the cluster.

Now with the 335i oil temp gague, I can tell you oil temp gauge is something I prefer much more.

It would have been nice if they integrated the coolant temp and as you mentioned voltage, right on the cluster, but then again those are iintegrated into the secret menu. Just not convenient to pull up on display.

Still miss my 1998 e39 540i.

wut !?

paid 200$

for the T° on N52 , you can simply code it, and it will work, you need to remember the scale, thats it. At the end it's useful to know when you can beat on it, and if the tstat or the pump fail.
