Installing replacement OEM stereo
'07 335xi auto, 150K miles. Option 677 - Hifi System Professional.
The stereo works fine except the display is shot. I am ordering a used replacement dash unit with a good display. Once it's physically installed, what do I need to do as far as coding it to the VIN, etc.? Can I do it with BimmerGeeks ProTool, or do I need to use ISTA, etc.? |

Actually, I'm finding I'm not sure what part numbers will work for my car. Realoem gave me a set of part numbers, and I'm not finding any of those on eBay so far, but I am finding a zillion listings with different part numbers that look the same and come from a variety of E9x, including '07 335xi. Will they work if they look the same? How can I determine what will work?

Most all of them will work .
The key is getting it programmed to your sound system mostly. No big changes to the pro radio in decades . Except in some of the newer ones Sat Radio , DAB and USB do not require a separate module . Typically reprogrammed through NCS expert in the Standard Tools Suite see coding sub forum . Also there used to be DIY kits for the display replacement if. They seem to be scarce now. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ighlight=pixel http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687463 Last edited by ctuna; 10-09-2024 at 03:07 PM.. |
