2007 328xi Track Build

I’ve had a lot of people ask me about this car and what we’ve done to it so far. It has been a great learning experience and feels amazing. Only a few months into this now so I thought I should share current progress/prep.

Mechanically, every suspension piece and component that could’ve deteriorated in the last 100k of the cars life has been replaced. ALL fluids were flushed. Gaskets changed, etc… after that agony was completed we get to the fun part

Upgrades include

- 034 Fluid free motor mounts
- 034 subframe inserts
- 034 end links
- 034 crank seal guard
- Bilstein B14 coilovers (which I will not be keeping they kinda suck lol)
- Oil heat exchanger from 528i
- 335i paddle shift retrofit
- 18” Apex vs5rs wheels running Continental ecs 02 (245/40 front, 275/35 rear)
- Paragon 6 piston BBK
- Custom 3d print cold air intake made by my fiancé

Incoming upgrades

- Status racing bucket seats
- A solution to a constantly warping valve cover
- External CSF oil cooler
- Sway bar
- M3 rear control arms (front does not work with x drive)
- Better coilovers (still deciding which)

External mods

-OEM style aero lip replica
- M3 spoiler
- And sometime next year we will start a diy diffuser project

Think there are aftermarket aluminum N52 valve covers now.

I’m aware, just not sure which to go with. I know turner sells a Bremman one which has pretty good feedback. But all I’ve gathered from others is that there can be casting imperfections and lead to leaks anyways. It seems most others who professionally track theirs go with magnesium but I have n51 so I would have to consider pcv/ccv differences

This post would go great in the E9X forum.
