Great time of the year for a window failure BRRR
Temps dropped into the high twenties this past week and yesterday my right rear window failed in the down position. Guess tomorrow I'm driving down to FCP to pick up a regulator and a motor. What sucks is there is no aftermarket one available anymore.
Grr, have a hot project to finish at work but guess Tuesday will be the day. Can't leave car unsecured and cold wet in the mornings waiting on a part right. |

I keep meaning to keep a roll of painters tape in the car for when a window inevitably fails :-/

Agreed, I could have done it yesterday but I was installing a regulator and motor assembly into a 08 Ford Expedition. I do a lot of free work for my neighbors as we all look out for each other. Saturday I rolled the other neighbors yard with tractor and the weighted roller as we are having crazy amounts of moles this year. He has a manicured lawn I have weeds and flowers.
It's funny my wagon has a build date of 09/07 so it's probably one of the earlier 328 vs the 325 cars, I also know it was an EU delivery. Service member bought new and was serviced in Frankfurt area. |

They are all basically junk because they all have these cheap plastic mounts for the window is where all of them break. I ended up buying some other super shitty Dorman ones from my local Oreilly Auto since they come with a lifetime warranty and the Oreilly is like a mile down the road from me. They always have them in stock and I go in like every 6 months with a broken one . I usually avoid Dorman like the plague but its one of the only brands that actually carries a lifetime warranty locally so I don't have to deal with shipping back the crappy broken OE one to FCP Euro. Also no need to replace the motor, just the regulator is the main failure point for these E90s. The window motors are rock solid and have each been thru like 8 regulators for both of my cars. |

Mine failed in the motor the regulator was just fine and that's why I bought both and put in the motor in the parking lot and dropped the regulator back in the store. The regulator had been replaced already the motor no it was from 9/18/06
