I have had the bimmerlabs 330i 3sim flash on my car for about 8 months. recently i had to go get emissions and it failed for various reasons. I had two open recalls and a dme encoded fault. i have taken care of the recall issues and while at bmw, they said usually the car wont start with a dme encoding fault, meaning the dme isnt coded to my vehicle and that it was strange my car was running still. my assumptions are thats caused by the 330i flash. im not sure thats the cause though.

Can anyone verify that would cause a dme fault?? or what it could possible be?

when you connect a generic code reader it will actually kill the car before the reading process has completed. when i used a buddies much nicer scanner i was able to pull all the codes, plus it wouldnt kill the car. when i took it to emissions it killed the car.. same as when using a generic reader.

i do have bmw tools and a laptop, im just unsure if i can or even how to update the dme back to stock..

What are the faults? Coding fault is probably nothing to worry about.

I've been at it all day today, the internet loves to say the fault code means nothing. but its obviously something, my car wont pass emissions because of it. its recognizing the vehicle doesnt have a matching dme.

now when in inpa and I pull the info, it also shows the vin is empty but the rest of the modules vins are correct

I've been trying to find the correct zusb number, the one my inpa is pulling, isnt recognizing in winkfp.

and when i check my sp-daten 69 files, the listed zusb number isn't in the list either. so i'm beginning to believe my zusb number isn't accurate.

this is a real headache.

If you can't get a sticker because of it get ahold of these people. They can do a remote session on your car and get rid of it.

Go onto realoem.com and look up the ZUSB of a 330i of correct region/transmission and then flash that ZUSB and fill in your VIN using winKFP. It sounds like some trickery is going on with the tune and it's not an OEM flash. That, or they really did fail to write the correct VIN to the DME, which is an amateur mistake.

edit: Bimmerlabs is an aftermarket tune. Flashing back to stock may be more challenging.
