Agree 100% very easy job. I don't know why but draining the coolant is always my kryptonite. I feels like a PITA for me, setting it up making sure I don't splash etc.

Dropping the subrame makes total sense for a turbo job! Man I wish E93s were shipped with the 3SIM to get those few extra horses w/out the turbo.
You can add a throttle body spacer. Apparently adds 5HP and 5% less fuel consumption lol

At some point I want to upgrade the rear lights to the LCI style that are all LED.

Check the wire loom first.

That was the first thing I checked; no obvious breaks or cracks but I didn't inspect any wires within the rubber cover (and on the E93 it's LONG.)

It seems to be the board inside the light itself. When removed from the trunk lid, shaking/tapping it made it work.

I don't mind soldering, but these assemblies appear to be glued together, and I can't separate it without destroying the light. I'll be on the lookout for a set of LCI tail lights.

Another day, another poorly maintained N54

Time to go to town with some solvent and a wire brush!

Would totally be worth it!

Actually, I'd like to do a 3SIM upgrade on the E91, but adding the proper tune seems a bit black arts.

Didn't do much to the car however the CIC retrofit parts collecting project has started. Thanks to Lowrydr310 I received the head unit via mail yesterday. Found a really good DIY thread from a fellow Bimmerpost member for what's needed with part numbers and a coding walkthrough.

Also through the research I saw that CIC early screens had the protective glass and then BMW decided to ditch the glass and add an anti glare coating to the screens which made me question what to me seems to be a poor decision. I'd much rather have the protective glass scratched and having the ease to buff it than leave scratches all over the screen itself. Not like the screen has touch screen function either. I wonder what the reasoning was behind that decision..

haha, yeah.

I'm not quite sure yet how I'll start.

probably with picture and measurement and see where is the best cut line.

then plastic weld, bondo and paint. a good project ahead.
