I think they only fold down if you have the winter package...not sure though

My understanding is that cold weather adds the pass-through for skis to come in through the trunk...my 02 Hyundai Accent had seats that folded down I'd be shocked if your E90 doesn't....

Check the inside of ur trunk, if they can fold down there will be a pull lever just beneath the trunk hinge. I too struggled to find it, even asked my SA no answers, one day a miracle happened an epiphany! And there it was, the lever to fold down the seats

Fold down rear seats is a standalone option or part of the cold weather package. It's not standard on E90.

If you have any of the following on the E90, you have Fold Down Rear Seats:
-If there is this black plastic triangle thing on the rear window shelf to hookup the center seatbelt, you have Fold Down Rear Seats
-If there is a latch on each side inside the trunk
-If you have the cut out of the rear seats

Since the OP is in Canada, I don't think the 323i are even available as an option. The 328i and higher models get the fold down rear seats as standard in Canada.

This. I was wondering how to fold them as well for a little bit.

It sucks, but my rear seats don't fold down either. Talk about nickel and diming...

...and for the guy that said , regardless of whether you have this feature or not, as far as your manual is concerned, you do. Once I found the page I opened my trunk in search of the levers, only to find that I have none.

BMW is a nickel and dime company!

323 is a base car, it may not have it...if it does, you should have no problem finding it.

+ 1

according to my manual, I have both transmissions, idrive and no idrive, sport package and no sport, etc....

oh wait... maybe the manual mentions everything so they don't have to print a different manual depending on options

In Canada, fold down rear seats are standard in the 328i. They are optional on the 323i. The release levers are in the trunk - one on either side.

Actually, there's a different manual if you have iDrive.

Folding seats aught to be standard though. They're standard in the damn Accord! They really go a long way to making a small car practical. Better still, you should be able to get any 3-series in wagon form. I really would've preferred a 335i wagon. They could even make it a sporty quasi-wagon like the A4 Avant. In the A4, the wagon looks BETTER than the sedan. That'd make it much easier to load bikes & such.

Random, but reading this post made me imagine an M3 wagon, that would be badass.

Yep. It took me a while to get over it. I paid 42k for a car that doesn't even have folding rear seat. Retarrrded. Even more retarded fact was that you have to pay to get it. Stupid as the damn cup holders.

Me three....I would have loved a 335 wagon. Add a Dinan |Stage 2 and you are pretty close to an M3 wagon. Or a 335d wagon, But I wanted the 335 more than the wagon. BMW NA imports 3 series with 6cyl, turbo 6 and turbo-diesel 6. Why can't I order any engine in any car?!?

I heard Caddy is going to allow special orders of the cts-v in wagon form. That would be a family-hauler.
