Been a busy few weekend and had some tire issues but can turn my attention back to the boost leak. Also hoping I got my leaky compressor fixed to actually run the leak test.

@montegoblu - as I understand it the rule of thumb is a pull from 3k to 6k in 3rd gear and then a little bit into 4th. DSC should be off. This is probably best if you can swing it. The shorter gears arent as ideal.

You need to record more channels in MHD, you only have a handful. From the looks of it seems like you have a boost leak like me. Can you hear any whistling when driving? I can sometimes. Though as this thread shows replacing wg solenoid vacuum system did help me some. ymmv etc

Alright gang, love the collaboration but I made this thread to focus on my problems...

Unsurprisingly, you probably have a boost leak. Though your boost target seems odd, probably dont use the beta MHD. Also you didnt really say if anything felt wrong with the car?

Anyway, finally got around to doing another leak test and this time was more successful with the smoke machine. Seems like the Turbo-IC pipe is leaking near the joint to the turbo. Guess Ill be looking at aftermarket options. Not super looking forward to installing it right after just putting the FMIC in but cest la vis.

If you have a boost leak, have visually checked and tightened all clamps then you really need to perform a smoke/pressurized leak check to figure out where you're leaking boost. Also seems likely on cars about this age that there may be several culprits causing issues.
