How common is a e91 335i auto?
Hi all
I have just bought my first interesting and fast car (my e91 335i) and I was wondering how common they are? Cheers for the reply James |

What country do you live in?
In the USA they're not common at all. Never a factory option, if you see one it was swapped by an enthusiast. |

Unobtanium in North American market.
Probably a bit rarer than the smaller engines in UK/Euro markets. |

The automatics where more common than the manuals which where less than 1000 in some years which makes them a total unicorn.(in the USA)
The default transmission in the USA is Auto the manuals are hard to get . I believe you can look of the stats on Wikipedia . I have seen them somewhere years ago. |

But otherwise, in the US the manual was standard equipment until ~May '11, at which point the automatic was made standard with the manual as a "no cost option" and MSRP was jacked $950. Though of course, most paid the $1200 for the automatic even before that. Not me, ordered my car the last day before that change took effect, and locked in the old pricing. Manuals got progressively rarer through the run, with making the automatic standard equipment nearly killing them off for that last 1.5 model years. Given the gas prices and displacement taxes in the Olde Countries I have to assume that a 335i e91 is polished unicorn poop even over there. The big six-cylinder diesels were far more popular than the gas sixes, with the vast, vast majority of the cars being the four cylinder gas and diesels. BMW HQ is *four* cylinders, not six cylinders for a reason.
