Looks like the flywheel may be the culprit for me. The 128 flywheel 11227548102 has a flex plate that protrudes quite a bit in comparison to the 2011 528 (N52/8HP45) flywheel.

Do you happen to remember what the DSC code was? As I can find online regarding this problem, seems like it would be hard to solve since the DSC units are older in e90s. In the xDrive models, when the 8hp transmission goes into 8th gear, the DSC throws an error and goes into emergency mode (8 can't be represented with 3bits???). How did you plan to proceed to solve this? Did you only use the Yanhua for programming and NcsExpert for coding? This thread is as close as it gets to a full OEM 8hp in e90 solution, so I think it's worth asking Cheers |

I’ve been looking for some more infos but I can’t find any. The n20 converter mounting is different with the flex plate not being flat, and that may cause an issue apparently with the n52 flywheel. I’d like to give it a shot however as that’s a daily driven I can’t screw it up, hence the reason I look up EVERYTHING to make sure I have no bad surprises under the car. For now, I’ve seen that the transmission mounts are compatible, the ATC 300 looks compatible with the 8hp45x awd version (not 100% sure though) and the CANTCU offers a full compatibility. The only thing I have to figure out is which TC should I get and how to make it work. |

Keep us updated on your progress, it would be really cool to see a 128i with an 8HP!
