Angry 2008 328i coupe N52 crank no start (Revival (Wizard guru plz u.u(

Hellooooo

I was wondering if you were able to guide me in a opinion based on my car

I finally got the energy to restore
My car that has been sitting for 6 years, i plugged in a battery and read the codes of P1056 and P105B. At beginning/

So I went ahead and found out my trunk battery grounds terminal had been with corrosion.

Finally I replaced the red grounds terminal post to the trunk bay and power distribution box.

p1056 and P105B cleared (✅)

But now the car is throwing no codes and has a crank no start.

I then placed a essentric shaft sensor, valvetronic actuator, and valve cover gaskets, different DME(if it was fried)

Still long crank to no start/

I had a backyard mechanic diagnose

With the lightbulb meter he ran the scope to my terminal back trunk harness to the engine bay terminal B+,

we checked the starter off the car if it cranks and it cranks.

We checked the grounds for the starter itself and it was getting power,

But for some reason the second grounds post was not lighting up as shown:

Does that conclude that the power to the junction box is not receiving any power? But my fuses are lighting up with light meter light bulb 💡Â…

If so how do I diagnose further?

I will be putting new fuel pump and checking fuses furthermore?

In conclusion I am getting power to grounds from the battery to chassis,

Soooooo Years ago around 2016 I purchased a 2008 N52 328i bmw from BMW of elpasoÂ…

It was a well maintained pre-owned vehicle with regular maintenance on services. straight off the dealership lot with 135k

after driving it passed its 138k mark it developed a long crank to start so I had the dealership “service recall” for B+ terminal ,

it was suggested and replaced , drove the car home after they serviced the recall and they left it in my hands with the long stutter crank.

So I left the dealership butchered car to sit since I have other shoes to wear,
———

What should my first steps in approaching this vehicle after it has been sitting for years?

Should i put ADELCO engine degreaser and lit it sit for a day or two and flush it out, (put new oil.

After I get the engine cleaned how should I go about diagnosing my crank to no start issue?

I went ahead and did a few diagnostics and this is what I came up with, maybe someone can help me revive this monster.

I ended up buying a multi meter, my battery voltage comes out too low? 11.4 v

Could you help me in reference :

On how to check my ignition coil for spark using a multimeter?

And how do I check if IÂ’m getting voltage to my fuel pump with multimeter?

So my intentions are that IÂ’ll get a battery, put it on and see if low voltage is the issue,

when I did open the valve cover it was nice and shiny , there was oil sitting on the bottom gunked up, so my hypothesis is that my pistons are seized?

Should I put ADELCO engine degreaser for one day sitting and empty it out the next morning?

-I already checked if starter cranks off of the car it cranks.

-I checked fuse box junction and the Grounds was not powering any voltage ,

-the harness that hoses across engine was not getting voltage.

-Alternator was getting voltage

-I put back my original ECU and B+ terminal junction box just incase,

(IÂ’m waiting to put a new fuel pump)

My intentions are to put a new battery and see if the low voltage was the issue and rule that out,

If that doesnÂ’t make it start IÂ’ll work my way to grounds , and the fuel pump control module including the fuse bracket it has with teeth near it.

If that is all good IÂ’ll work my way to ignition coils and spark plugs for spark , and focus on either both camshaft positioning sensors one on engine and the other one under intake manifold. Maybe bad engine harness? Not giving power to spark? Bad DME? (Needs to reprogram old equipment?)
I did check the terminal teeth and none are burnt out on DME.

Am I potentially missing one of the earth straps that may be bad?

you may check earth straps
1. if you have no positive here you have to check the wire going here from battery, via battery wall and then underside
another way to do this is to connect some 5m wire to battery negative and run outside to bonnet and check if you have voltage here, positive from this clamp under red cover and negative brought from batter directly
2. second thing is listen, when you open car or trunk you should hear the fuel pump activation
3. you have two ground wires from motor to body, one here nearby this red cover clamp, and another from bottom, on the left side of the motor

Thank you I will be checking on my earth straps,

I have found the location for one ground strap that is under the driver side that connects to engine. I’m going to uncover my bottom cover and checking all my ground straps.

Would all earth straps be found on the same location as other models? So I can look up one by reference on where to look?

And I will update.
