Need to break into my trunk
Help gratefully accepted!
I was working on my 2011 328i, when I decided to disconnect the battery so I didn't drain it. I unscrewed the Positive RED wire where it screws into the red, plastic module that sits on top of the battery, rather than at the + post where I usually would. I then shut the trunk.... I tired to jump the electrical system by connecting a battery pack up to the terminal in the engine bay, but nothing. I guess disconnecting that particular module/cable renders that system useless? My car doesn't have the pass through in the back seat so I can't crawl into the trunk that way either. Could I connect a 12v power supply to the Trunk Release button in the driver's foot well? An other suggestions welcomed. THANKS! |

Happened to my son's E93 335i. Pain in the neck to get to the wire needed to apply 12v to, but doable. See posts 164 and 165 on page 8 of thread provided by lordnikon above. Video and diagram should clarify which wire to energize.
