Long time member but very few activity.

So i sold my M3 for a 335d last year with the intention to keep it stock and to fulfill my needs at this period of time since i travel a lot by car.

That did not last long as usual and started doing all the basics to it.

After some tuning had been done, i pushed the car to its limits on one of my rides for about 20-25 minutes, and the temp limp mode came on

It was strange for me as i never had any kind of this problem to any of my cars ( not even on the M3 ).

After some research i found that the auto transmission do have a problem with heat after some "pushing"


I contacted CSF UK about this and the response was that they do not have something for the D and if its possible to gather 30 units to order they could make something up. ( they also need some stuff to do it but that is a different story)


My questions to all of you is this :

1) If there is enough interest out there for something like this ?

2) Is there any other solution for a radiator that i do not know about?

Yes

Picked up a csf radiator for a 335i auto

A minor custom work for the hole in the right bottom and the top left and its in place

had the car on the dyno for the last month almost every 3 days and there was no issue with heat ( Athens right now is 32c ++++)

Also look at the wagner evo3 compettion intercooler

Massive drop in intake temps.

Had the evo 2 and really not so much difference

But the evo3 works real wonders

From where did you got it here in Europe ? And can you specified what where the modification you have to do to fit it ? Thanks very much.

I got it from csf uk ( they had one last in stock )

335i auto

You need to change the angle that the main hose goes to the radiator

Top left corner ( its very easy for someone that do work on aluminium)


Bottom right corner
There is a hole that you need to plug. Again you can use the guy that does aluminium work.

Its very easy to do everything

Then you drop it in.

If you get it in your hands you will see immediately what needs to be done.

Thank you , what temps are you getting now vs with the stock rad? Do you have any logs?

Any data your we're getting before and after csf rad ?
Radiator fits bolt on apart from the 2 modifications?
I changed everything on the car regarding to coolant (t-stat, coolant temp. sensor, water pump, flush and clean) if I sit in traffic, temps are 86-88C if I drive normally and slow, temps stays the same. Whenever I floor it a bit or go to 1/4 mile, temperature goes up to 99-109C even 113C then drops down immediately after I let go gaz! I have the huge Orion intercooler that may block airflow to the radiator.

Bump to see if anyone else has installed a CSF. Or if the original poster has any thoughts from the last few years of use.
