Speaker Upgrade L7
Hi All,
I've been building the sound system in my E92 with L7 and have done quite a bit of upgrading: P3 12" Fosgate Sub with a Mono Amp 2 Channel Rockford Amp for 8" Woofers Audison M8.14 DSP Volume is more than adequate however the overall sound is "muddy" and there is little instrument separation-The top end is the weak part of the system. People have recommended changing the speakers out-What would be a cost effective option that yields the greatest improvement? Looking for much detail/separation in my music. Thanks! |

What have you done as far as tuning the DSP? While you can definitely improve over the stock drivers, in my system (Hi-Fi) the amp was by far the weakest link and the speaker upgrade was a minor improvement. I used Room EQ Wizard and a calibrated USB microphone to set the time alignment and EQ the speakers with the my AudioControl D-6.1200 and am happy with the results.
I was a lot to learn but there are a lot of great resources on www.diymobileaudio.com. This is was a good starting point: https://www.diymobileaudio.com/threa...system.163234/ The Audio Frog Guide to Tuning Your System is worth reading |

Even the base setup was pretty good when i tuned them with DSP + added tweeters.
i was shocked. While they lack in power they are somewhat the perfect speakers as they are purpose designed to give best output with limited budget. I still blew all my stock base speakers when experimenting around so they are not designed to handle any increased power compared to CIC ~12W |
