Metal shavings inside oil filter

Hi, tofay when went to do an oil change we’ve found weird metal shavings in the oil filter, like half a bolt thread and some flakes. They were non metalic as they did not get picked up by the magnet, any idea what it could be? N57 Thank you

Could be threads from the oil pan drain hole. It's aluminum so a magnet won't pick it up.

That would make sense as the bolt was changed, any idea if any of those shavings could ve gotten at the rod bearings?

My oil pan threads actually got stripped out and I had to flush oil through the engine to flush out the metal from the pan even after draining the oil. I used this slightly oversized bolt with RTV silicone for good measure. Now I just remove the center part with an allen wrench.

When I eventually changed the filter down the road(I reused the same oil but filtered through several paint filters on its way back into the engine) I found the same piece of thread. I would like to hope that they would filter the oil coming from the pan before circulating it through the engine.
