Euro spec steering wheel on U.S spec car?

Hi guys!

I’m looking to fit a euro spec display wheel (I believe it is from Greece, it’s on eBay, and seller is unresponsive) onto a US spec car.

From my research my understanding is all the parts are the exact same except the airbag. I would need a single stage airbag is what I’m thinking unless I can see more pictures to confirm if it is a dual stage.

My question is, can I source a single stage airbag and make it work on a U.S spec car or would that cause coding issues. Also is there anyway to put a dual stage airbag on a single stage wheel or would that be an issue? Also curious vice versa in this situation as well.

Any guidance is much appreciated!

You can code a single stage bag in the MRS module if I'm not mistaken.

you can keep your airbag if you have sport or msport wheel, display wheel do not cross with airbag wire

There’s a post somewhere where I commented but yes there’s just one variable that you need to code to switch from dual stage airbag to single stage

EDIT: see here https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=25322264
