First, someone asked what PCD stood for - it's Performance Center Delivery, which is part of the Spartanburg factory complex. They do lots of driving classes on their track. And I don't think Thermal ever had it. I've been to Thermal, and they use an adjacent track that is a private track for race car enthusiasts, who build multi million dollar homes around it (like a golf course). Not as extensive a set up as Spartanburg, but still worth a visit for a class.

As for the X6. I loved my X4 M40, but as that lease came up, I really wanted to move up. I rent from Sixt a lot and I get X5's pretty often and my best friend has a '24 X5 with MSport. Great vehicle, but I am single, no kids, no dogs, no need to carry bulky items. One time Sixt gave me an X6, and it is definitely more refined and luxurious than my X4 (not that the X4 isn't great as is). BMW definitely dials more in as you go up the product chain.

But I'm also getting older, and I was thinking this might be my last truly fun, rather expensive, sporty car - and not being ready to go electric, it was hard to turn down one of the few massive 8 cylinder ICE's remaining on the market.

Finally, I just grew out of sedans/coupes - again, maybe because I'm getting old and I like the higher ride height. Also last year when Fort Lauderdale got hit by the historic flooding from essentially a year's worth of rain in a day, my friends in sedans got stranded/flooded out. Those added few inches of ride height on the X4 got me home safe.

I have a G90 ordered and am based in Ireland.
German delivery is possible. However, having recently driven across the continent from Germany not hugely enthusiastic about it as it’ll run the 1500km run-in mileage up in that one trip BMW take no prisoners where that initial service is missed.
I assume you’re based in the ‘States so how does Munich delivery work for you?
Why is it worth it?

It was an awesome trip for us in North America and one that was discounted. Europeans pay for Welt Delivery and NA customers would get a discount 5%? Off the cost of the car. Obviously the cheapskates at BMW cancelled the program for us Yanks during Convid we can longer do it 👎. It was a great time to get accustomed to your car on some of the best driving roads and a sweet vacation as well. We did it 4 times. PCD was whatever to us and only did it once.

Very nice build.
It's a shame we don't have the PCD in Australia

@mattinfll - Congrats on your X6 and also selecting Jon Shafer as your CA. My wife and I have gotten 3 BMWs from Jon including our 2023 M550 last June. We haven't done a PCD yet but we were fortunate to do European deliveries in 2016 and 2017. Cheers!

Congrats on your new toys. I did PCD 3 times. Passed on it for the last 2 cars. Love the X6 and the color combination, it is spectacular. But I am biased. Enjoy it and be safe down there.

Definitely an awesome experience. If I ever win the lottery, I’ll buy one too.
