320i ABS/traction control/low tyre pressure light
Hi All,
I have had the traction control light appear on my 2005 BMW 320i followed by the low tyre pressure light and ABS light. I tried turning off the car hoping it would go away, and the car completely shut off, all electronics disabled including the key fob stuck in the slot. First time this happened I had to jump start the car to gain access. It has happened again while driving (everything switches off for a split second, odometer drops and restarts) and when turning car off similar problem as above, however it soon gained life again without a jump start. I had taken my car for a service 2 days before this happened and replaced the battery. I have also disconnected the window motor as the regulator went on me after the service too. Could either of these cause this problem? Took it back to mechanic and new fault codes included: steering angle sensor and alternator over-charging fault. It's an old car and I need another 12 months out of it before I can buy a new one.. It has a few existing problems (oil leaks & engine shutting off while idling but restarts straight after), but they haven't caused me any major problems like this one has. Any ideas? Is it time to let go? :'( Last edited by NickyT; Yesterday at 02:03 AM.. |
