I had airbag light too. Bad alternator diode was likely allowing ac voltage into the can system screwing things up. Alternator was also was causing 3 amp parasitic draw killing battery.

Most importantly, what codes are you getting? |

Windshield wipers will not turn off
I just finished changing the coolant on my 2013 E93 335is. Now the windshield wipers will not turn off. The only thing electronic I touched was to remove the fan so I could drop the intercooler to gain access to the coolant radiator drain plug. I put everything back together and now the windshield wipers will not turn off. I have not driven it yet so I do not know if there are other problems but....What could cause this?

low battery
I think the problem was the battery is getting old after 7 years and after sitting over the weekend the voltage was too low and caused almost every system to show a warning (including the windshield wipers that defaulted to on). I charged the battery and cleared all the codes with ISTA and the car is working. Now I see a new battery in my future.

Good evening all
I am having similar issues but different codes It all started after I bought it, I had intermittent lights in the dash (abs, handbrake airbag and tyre warning light) Also the wipers would switch to intermittent blower motor stops, windows stop working, radio turned off and indicators would not auto cancel. After reading up I thought it might be either water in the electrics under the bonnet or abs module/ pump. Had a mechanic who apparently knows BMW’s well plug it in who basically said it could be any anything but he couldn’t talk to the DSC module. Useless! Anyway I’ve decided to go it on my own and investigate. So I’ve got INPA and searched stores codes and this is what I have. 00 JJBF 4 errors A6D1 61 C910 64 C914. 64 C90B. 61 01 MRS. 1 error 93FB. E4 12 DME/DDE. 14 errors 4C13. 68 4C23. 68 4C28. 68 49F3. 68 43F1. 72 4C03. 68 4992. 64 3F62. 74 4BF3. 68 4212. 24 4232. 24 4222. 24 4242. 24 4B90. 11 40 CAS 2 errors A118. 20 A0B5. 61 50 SINE 1 error 9D12. 11 60 KOMBI 3 errors A3AC. 60 A3B9. 60 A550. 60 72 FRM 2 errors 9CAC. 21 9CCF. 64 after resetting and not driving these have straightaway come back. 00 JJBF A6D1. 61 01 MRS 93FB. E4 12 DME/DDE 4C13. 48 4C23. 48 4C28. 48 49F3. 48 4C03. 48 4992. 44 4BF3. 48 60 KOBI A3AC. 60 A3B9. 60 A550. 60 I have also fitted a new battery to eliminate this first When I bought it was sent to have the recall of the blower motor wire replaced ? Could this play a part ! Any help or advise would be greatly received . Thanks |

Hello! Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I’m dealing with wipers always on on a 2006 325xi wagon. No issues before this. The only issue alongside it is a window icon in the cluster. Relay was super hot with burnt contacts. Putting a new one in, the issue remains. Battery was tested and tests good. I don’t have access to a scan tool but my first thought was the JBE possibly. I’ll look into the other recommendations here as well. Any help would be appreciated!

Have you checked that your interior is perfectly dry - carpets, behind dash etc.? |

I haven’t checked that. The carpets appear dry to me but I’ll look. If they are wet, I fix the leak, what’s most probable leak point, and/or corroded connections? |

Spots to check for water - Lateral acceleration sensor under the drivers seat and CAN bus wiring junction near the drivers foot rest (on a LHD car).
In your case codes are very important to have. There are many different causes for the wipers running out of control as it is all tied together to the DSC Unit / Steering SZL / Lateral Sensor / JBBF modules which communicate over CAN. Any continuity or resistance issues will cause the problem. I would approach this issue by reviewing what changes were made to the car recently if any, pulling codes, verifying wiring and CAN resistance between each end point. I've attached a diagram but you can probably find something better online. Last edited by luxe91; 09-14-2020 at 04:52 AM.. |

There can be many different reasons for the wipers running. Wiring issues or CAN BUS resistor failures are possible. What is happening in your case? Do you have specific error codes?

Just wanted to add I was getting all of these symptoms when installing my CarPlay android head unit. Only when I would disconnect my LVDS cable or Screen Cable from the CIC. (Yes the battery should have been disconnected)
But I believe my issue to have either been frayed wires on the LVDS plug, shorting out, or my JBBF module had gone bad. Like I say, it only happened when installing the head unit, and when plugged back in like OEM it worked like normal. Wish I had a more definite answer than "one of two things" but honestly it's good practice to re-insulate any frayed or exposed wires anyways, so try re-insulation and then if the problem still exists, replace JBBF! |

I made an account to say this 😂
I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here, but luxe, thank you so much for all of the information you posted in this thread. This has given me a lot of hope, and a place to start for all of the problems that my 328 is having. I really appreciate it
