To be honest, I strongly recommend bimmergeeks protool for this. It's so much simpler than NCS. NCS blows my mind!

So you need to set the new engine type in the VO in CAS and FRM, then default code the car so that all other modules are updated accordingly. That should solve your immediate issues with the DME.

Well, bimmergeeks' downloads are no longer available, all these program were found in those hidden free communities, or else I would never be able to get these tools😭

What if I use ista+ to code? NCX Expert is kinda~ dunno what to say🤣. I have been studying that application for like a complete whole day, but still don't really know how it work.

You can't code an E series vehicle with ISTA D or + You need ISTA P for that which is a completely different program. NCS expert is pretty easy once you are familiar with it.

This is why I use protool. I don't use NCS often enough to remember how it works, and I really dont have the time/energy to learn every time.

I'd message bimmergeeks support and ask if protool can change the power class. If it can, then you pay for the software (permanent license), your problem is fixed and you always have that software for diagnostics or coding in future. Well worth it IMO.
