If you want to risk stratify your fear budget here is some data that will help you enjoy the fear of ICE vehicle fires instead of EVs.
"A study conducted by AutoinsuranceEZ, using data pulled from the National Transportation Safety Board and sales data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, shows an interesting statistic. As compiled by goodcarbadcar.net, hybrid vehicles have the greatest likelihood of catching fire at 3,474.5 incidents per 100,000 sales, followed by gas-powered cars at 1,529.9 incidents and, in third, electric vehicles at 25.1 incidents." https://motorweek.org/this-just-in/h...ires-not-very/ |

I’m just trying to help people fear based on data. It’s important to be apoplectic about things. I just want people to be incapacitated by anxiety based on risk.

You would think Porsche would be the least likely to have issues, but they do.
https://www.benzinga.com/tech/24/11/...ting-fire-risk A many of use keep saying, it's not the frequency of EV fires that's the issue, it's that when it happens it's an ecological and financial disaster. |

I believe Musk has an eye on a different prize. Far ahead of what you currently see.
His goal is not to sell you a car, but sell you a subscription service. He's a genius. He gets the masses to subsidize a automated vehicle network. Eventually paying people to join the fleet and have their vehicles make money. But wait. You'll undoubtedly have to subscribe to a maintenance plan to ensure the cars are reliable. Taking some of your profit. Your car ages out. You don't have the means or way to refurbish it. Guess who does? Eventually he stops selling cars, but buys up all of the cheap cars and refurbishes. After enough volume is achieved in each area you get offered a subscription service that offers a vehicle that arrives at home to take you to work and picks you up when you go home. Eventually you'll have the option to subscribe to more luxurious travel amenities. Cheaper ride share subscriptions. Ultra elite catered buses (you saw what he just announced). Musk doesn't want to sell you a car. He wants to sell you a new way of life.
